Panshak Henry Zamani (born 30 October 1984) known professionally as Ice Prince Zamani, is a Nigerian hip hop singer, recording artist and actor. He came into the spotlight following the release of his hit single “Oleku,” featuring Brymo.

He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour and released his debut album Everybody Loves Ice Prince in 2011 with hit singles, “Oleku,” “Superstar,” and “Juju.”

Ice Prince’s second studio album, Fire of Zamani, was released in 2013. The hits “Aboki,” “More,” “Gimme Dat,” and “I Swear” were included on the album.

Ice Prince was introduced as Chocolate City’s vice president on July 1, 2015. He worked there until 2016, when he departed the record company.

Early Life and Education

Ice Prince Zamani was born in the town of Minna, Niger State. He was given the name Panshak Henri Zamani.

He relocated with his family to Jos, a mining city in Plateau State, when he was two years old. He belongs to the Angas race.

Ice Prince was a resident of Jos and enrolled at St. Murumba College. Additionally, he studied at Jos’ Science Tutorial Niger State College.

He started studying zoology at the University of Jos but had to discontinue due to a “financial limitation.”

Career

Ice Prince Zamani started writing rap songs in 1999, and performing them at school. He began recording songs professionally in 2001.

He cofounded the “ECOMOG Squad” with a few buddies in 2002, however the group broke up after a year.

He met M.I Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ruby Gyang, Lindsey, Eve, and Taz in 2004, and the group later became known as the “Loopy Crew.”

Everybody Loves Ice Prince, his first studio album, was released in 2011. Three singles, “Oleku,” “Superstar,” and “Juju,” served as its backbone.

Ice Prince’s second studio album, Fire of Zamani, was released in 2013. The hits “Aboki,” “More,” “Gimme Dat,” and “I Swear” were included on the album.

As far as musical influences are concerned, Ice Prince named Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, M.I. Abaga, and Jesse Jagz.

He began working frequently with Chopstix, a producer for Grip Boiz City, in 2012, and “Aboki” was released that summer.

Along with it, a music video was made available. On Afribiz’s Top 100 chart, “Aboki” peaked at position 92.

“More” was released by Ice Prince as the album’s second single on August 28, 2012. Chopstix also produced the tune.

Moe Musa filmed and directed the “More” music video in London. It features Lola Rae, a recording artist from Britain and Nigeria who is best known for her hit “Watch My Ting Go.”

The 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards hosted the video’s world premiere.

The song “Aboki (Remix),” which Ice Prince referred to as the “largest African crash ever,” was released on January 25, 2013.

Sarkodie, Mercy Johnson, Wizkid, M.I., and Khuli Chana are all featured in the song.

Ice Prince and Chocolate City simultaneously released “Gimme Dat” and “V.I.P.” on April 24, 2013. The former was included on the album’s final tracklist, but not the latter.
