Bovi Ugboma, (born September 25, 1979), professionally known as Bovi, is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is best known for his comedy skits and stand-up comedy show, Bovi: Man.
Early Life and Education
Bovi Ugboma, a renowned comedian and actor, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Benin, located in Edo State, Nigeria, which is also his ancestral home. His educational journey began at the prestigious UNIBEN Staff School, where he received his primary education.
In 1991, Bovi embarked on his secondary education at Government College, Ughelli, in Delta State. However, due to certain behavioral concerns and his parents’ genuine apprehension about his personal development, he was subsequently transferred to Edokpolor Grammar School in Benin City, where his family resided at the time. Bovi made his acting debut in the comedy series Extended Family, which he also created and produced, in April 2007. His program was adored and appreciated by viewers which earned him massive fame in the entertainment industry.
In Nigeria’s top comedy series, Night of a thousand laughs, hosted by Opa Williams, Bovi made his stand-up comedy debut. In 2011 Bovi was already a superstar, starring in shows all around the country, performing his first stand-up special at the Eko Convention Center.
Additionally, worldwide superstars Ja Rule and Ashanti appeared in Bovi: Man on Fire 2014. Bovi performed the one-man show in a number of American cities, including London, Melbourne, Kiev, Brisbane, Sydney, Moscow, and Toronto.

He received his third individual nomination since the AMVCA’s establishment and the fourth nomination for one of his productions in 2017 when he was nominated for best actor in a comedy.
Despite receiving little media press, the film enjoyed a respectable run in theaters and made 55 million naira at the box office.
